Chemically, both are high-grade penetrating alkyd oil primers. The pink tint provides a visual confirmation that all timber edges and end-grains have been coated. White Wood Primer is preferred when painting white or very light gloss topcoats to reduce undercoat requirements.
No. Glory Pink Wood Primer is manufactured with modern lead-free pigments (a blend of red iron oxide and rutile titanium dioxide) that comply with Kenya health and environmental standards.
End-grain absorbs water up to 250 times faster than face grain, causing timber swelling, rot, and joint failure. Brushing Glory Pink Wood Primer liberally into end-grain seals these capillary tubes against moisture.
It covers approximately 10 to 12 square metres per litre depending on wood species and absorption.
Allow 16 hours for the primer to dry completely before applying Glory Universal Undercoat.
