It is a single-pack, bitumen-based coating formulated specifically for the internal protective lining of metallic and concrete potable drinking water tanks, delivering a non-toxic, non-tainting, and odorless impermeable barrier.
It is suitable for the interior of concrete, cement render, and mild steel water storage tanks. Concrete must be dry and cured at least 28 days; steel surfaces must be degreased with Crown White Spirit and wire-brushed or abrasive-blasted to remove rust before application.
Use Crown White Spirit as the approved thinner and equipment cleaner. The product is supplied ready for use for brush and roller application. For conventional spray application, thin up to 10% by volume with Crown White Spirit. Do not use unapproved solvents or mineral turpentine.
Touch dry in approximately 4–6 hours; recoat after 16–24 hours. The coated water tank must be allowed to cure thoroughly with adequate ventilation for at least 7 to 14 days, followed by thorough flushing with clean water before being put into domestic potable water service.
Theoretical spreading capacity is approximately 8–11 m² per litre per coat, depending on surface porosity, roughness, and application method. At least two full coats are required for complete water tank lining protection.
