Heavy-duty industrial anti-corrosive primer systems, red oxide primers, zinc chromate, and aliphatic polyurethane topcoats for steel structures, roofs, and gates.
Crown WB Fire Shield (Intumescent Paint) is an architectural and protective coating manufactured by Crown Paints. Formulated for crown wb fire shield (intumescent paint) is a low voc water based one component paint designed for fire protection for concrete, structural steel work in buildings, wood, and gypsum board. during direct fire, the coating expands to many times of its original thickness. it creates an insulation layer, it delivers reliable film durability and coverage across residential, commercial, and industrial facilities in Kenya.

Crown WB Fire Shield (Intumescent Paint) is suitable for application on properly prepared cement plaster, concrete, drywall, timber, or metal. All substrates must be structurally sound, dry, free of dust, grease, oil, and loose or flaking material prior to coating.
Use Clean tap water. For brush or roller application, thin only up to 5–10% by volume if necessary. For spray application, adjust according to spray equipment manufacturer instructions (typically 10–15%). Do not over-thin.
Crown WB Fire Shield (Intumescent Paint) achieves touch dry in approximately 1–2 hours touch dry, and is ready for recoat after 4–6 hours under standard Kenyan ambient conditions (25°C, 50% RH). Drying will take longer in cold, damp, or poorly ventilated conditions.
The theoretical spreading rate is approximately 10–14 m² per litre per coat, depending on substrate porosity, texture, surface profile, and application loss. Two coats are generally recommended for optimal opacity and film build.
Yes, for fresh plaster, powdery masonry, bare metal, or unpainted timber, an appropriate primer or sealer must be applied first. Applying an appropriate primer ensures maximum adhesion, prevents suction, and prevents premature coating failure.
Crown WB Fire Shield (Intumescent Paint) is commercially supplied in 4L, 20L. Pack availability may vary based on tint base and batch production.
