Frequently Asked Technical Questions

How many coats of paint are needed on new plaster walls?

New interior and exterior plaster requires a minimum of three coats: 1 coat of penetrating alkali-resistant masonry primer/undercoat, followed by 2 finish coats of quality acrylic emulsion. The primer stabilizes plaster absorption and ensures uniform sheen without patchy flashing.
