Our application crews handle diamond grinding, surface moisture testing, and multi-coat installation adhering strictly to manufacturer technical data sheets.
Theoretical consumption for Sika MonoTop®-620 is Consumption This depends on the substrate roughness and thickness of layer applied. As a guide, ~17.4 kg of powder per m2 per cm thick Yield 25 kg of powder yields approximately 14.5 litres of mortar. On actual construction sites in Kenya, coverage rates vary by 10% to 25% depending on concrete substrate porosity, surface texture (rough tamped, wood float, or power-floated), mechanical surface preparation, application tools (brush, notched trowel, or airless spray), and ambient temperature fluctuations.
Receiving substrates must be structurally sound, free of grease, oil, dust, loose laitance, efflorescence, and existing debonded coatings. For cementitious slurries (such as SikaTop and Sika MonoTop), the concrete surface must be brought to a Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition—meaning pores are saturated with water but no puddles remain—to prevent dry concrete from rapidly absorbing mixing water and causing early shrinkage cracks.
At typical Kenyan daytime temperatures of +25°C to +30°C, the usable working time (pot life) of Sika MonoTop®-620 is approximately ~30- 45 minutes at +20 °C. Allow 4 to 12 hours between coats; 7 days for full hydraulic / chemical cure before overcoating. High ambient temperatures or direct equatorial sunlight accelerate curing; keep mixed materials shaded and avoid mixing larger batches than can be placed within the pot life.
Sika MonoTop®-620 is supplied in factory original packaging: 25 kg bags. Paints Kenya supplies complete factory units from individual cartridges and pails up to palletized contractor consignments with verified batch integrity and intact security seals.
